Shipping Handler - Steubenville
Steubenville, OH
Starting at $18.00/hour
 
Monday to Friday – 50-hour weeks (10 OT)
First 30 days are steady daylight – 7 am to 3pm
Then
Monday to Friday – 6:30 am to 4:30 pm

Job Description:
Individuals will work with shipping managers and production supervisors to help produce, stage and ship finished good in a timely manner that meet quality specifications. This includes general labor activities such as lifting object (50lbs), operating a forklift, etc. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute duties as assigned by the production and shipping managers
  • Read Bill of Lading to properly prepare and stage products for shipments
  • Ability to load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks with hazardous materials
  • Ability to efficiently operate forklift to transport products between warehouses
  • Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals during repackaging processes
  • Repackaging chemical material from one container to another
  • Safely offloading and Loading tanker trucks using unloading hoses and pumps
  • Abide by safety protocols 
  • Ability to meet physical demands of a fast-paced work environment. 
    • Standing for long periods of time
    • Lifting up to 50lbs
    • Walking around warehouse area
  • Good reading and writing skills to complete necessary paperwork for job duties
  • Maintain a clean and operable work environment
 
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Forklift Certified and Proficiency (Sit Down, Liquid Propane Forklift)
  • Experience with DOT and Hazardous Material Shipping Requirements
  • HAZMAT Certified Preferred
  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance
