Steubenville, OH
Starting at $19.00/hour 
After Probationary Period – Salary of $43k to $46k
 
Monday to Friday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
 
Benefits After Probationary Period

Job Description:
It is the duty of the QC chemist to ensure quality of all incoming and outgoing products and raw materials by utilizing chemistry lab skills to perform necessary tests and record all information in an organized fashion. QC chemist shall perform all duties safely and as outlined by standard operating procedures. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Testing all finished/outgoing products made each day
  • Testing all incoming bulk tanker loads 
  • Creating and logging Certificate of Analysis for products that require them
  • Creating samples for customer shipments
  • Sample maintenance
    • Keeping retains of all products
    • Pulling retains of products to troubleshoot problems
    • Disposing of retains after 6 months
  • Product problem solving including reanalyzing samples of raw materials and finished products where problems occur
  • Calculating pH adjustments for products to ensure specifications are met
  • Pulling and investigating paperwork for products with problems
  • Formulating new products 
  • Testing new raw materials before manufacturing use
  • Inventory of lab supplies
  • Daily water testing
  • Data recording for all products, raw materials, and tests
  • All other duties as assigned by lab manager
 
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Organization skills and persistent attention to detail
  • Ability to follow procedures and analyze and interpret data
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the chemical lab
  • Ability to measure and weigh volumes 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred
