Project Engineer – Direct Hire
Leetsdale, PA
Up to $80,000.00 yearly
Monday thru Friday – 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Responsibilities:
 
  • Establish relationships with key customer contacts.
  • Understand all customer priorities and efficiently communicate them back to CMR teams.
  • Manage and monitor project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Conduct on-site visits to customer and other locations as needed.
  • Develop and drive improvement within engineering practices and processes.
  • Collaborate with other internal and external teams and departments including design engineering team to ensure the highest level of manufacturability for all products. 
  • Assist in quotations for new opportunities.
  • Schedule project/engineering tasks and deliver to agreed timeframes.
  • Lead weekly update meetings to present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to internal/external customer.
  • Support the Group Engineering and US team in the implementation and management of a variety of projects –NPI, Change Control, and Customer Quotes 
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
  • Complete technical studies and prepare cost estimates.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving any problems.
  • Support the design change process to ensure timely delivery of controlled design change.
  • Support the implementation and embedding of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. 
  • Analyze data for assigned projects and other projects to support informed decision making.
  • Develop processes and define process maps to support engineering projects.
  • Encourage and pioneer a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Perform other project-related functions such as reviewing and writing reports and weekly meeting notes.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
 
Required Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Manufacturing Engineering or other engineering/electrical discipline (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years’ experience working in manufacturing environments including experience in a “hands-on” low to medium volume assembly process improvements and practical quality improvement implementation. 
  • Lean Tools / Six Sigma Problem Solving experience. 
  • Understanding of product data management system and ERP 
  • Core Tools – APQP, PPAP experience 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
