Starting at $18.00 to $19.00 / hourly
Monday to Friday, three shifts available
1st (7 am to 3:15 pm) – 2nd (3:00 pm to 11:15 pm) – 3rd (11:00 pm to 7:15 am)

Description
The Material Handler operates a forklift or other mobile equipment to retrieve and distribute pallets and/or steel material to designated locations, as specified by work instructions or other. The worker ensures the flow of materials through the supply chain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read work instructions to determine product beginning and ending locations.
- Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently to deliver the product to final location.
- Utilize necessary equipment to verify measurements/quality specifications.
- Complete job requirements with minimal supervision.
- Accurately document applicable job and product information utilizing computer and paper documents as required.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform preventative maintenance on mobile equipment as required/requested.
- Focus on quality and speed, performing all tasks with a sense of urgency toward excellence.
- Use of an overhead crane to maneuver and position steel pieces using lifting magnets, chains and/or straps.
- Maintain vehicle equipment cleanliness. Alert management of any mechanical issues in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as needed.

- The incumbent must sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak English.
- Position requires frequent physical exertion. Incumbent will frequently be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, and larger amounts with assistance. Incumbent may need to operate crane and forklift.
- The work location includes a warehouse and fabrication shop setting, which will expose the Incumbent to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
- Work is performed inside the plant and outside in mobile equipment, but workers are exposed to seasonal and welding temperatures.
- Incumbents must wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection and steel-toed boots, and any other PPE as required in the production area.
Qualifications / Education
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED preferred.
- Forklift certification.
- Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: follow instructions and perform basic math functions.
- 1 years’ experience operating mobile equipment, preferably in a service center.
- Forklift certification a plus.
- Employment is contingent on criminal background and drug test.
