$23.00 to $25.00/hour to start.
M to F: 7 am to 3:30 pm

A downtown Butler, PA machine shop is seeking an experienced manual machinist that can be handed a part and require no supervision to obtain consistently superior results.  This person can also diagnose problems with a machine tool and generally make repairs as necessary.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Read blueprints and determine procedures to propose the correct material and steps necessary to meet the specific requirements called for on the drawings.
  • Machine tools may be CNC, requiring digitally entering data on a punch control, or manual, requiring manually moving levers and turning hand wheels with varying forces up to 10 lbs.
  • Must perform setups requiring bolting down work pieces with wrenches, requiring up to 40 lbs. of force.
  • Be able to perform preparation and set up the material on HBM, Planer, Lathe, etc.
  • Machine the part to specifications on the dwg.
  • Will be cleaning machine tools.
  • Utilizing the optimum machine setting (speeds and feeds) to properly manage tool life vs. time of manufacturing.
  • Diagnose problems and generally make repairs as necessary.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • 3 years’ manual machining experience.
  • Must be able to stand for eight hours in one day with the exception of two ten minute breaks and one half hour lunch.
  • Experience in operating forklift and crane.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school diploma a plus
  • Employment contingent upon criminal background, and drug test
