LOCAL ROUTE DRIVER
Greater Pittsburgh Area
We are seeking a route driver to provide service for our customers. This position involves driving a truck over established routes and selling services to businesses and consumers. Knowledge of basic truck maintenance is also beneficial. Our ideal candidate is an experienced driver with a clean driving record and a strong understanding of driver safety protocols.
- Responsibilities:
- Inspect and operate truck, ensuring safety and reliability before commencing the route
- Ability to locally drive a 26,000lb truck (Non CDL)
- Operate heavy equipment inside the driver’s cabin
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs when necessary
- Follow a specific route and time schedule based on customer needs
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies
- Report defects, accidents or violations
- Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints professionally
- Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Pass background screenings (Drug and Criminal Check)
- Heavy equipment operating preferred but not required
- Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a route driver or similar role
- Ability to operate truck in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in driving and delivery.
- Knowledge of delivery routes and navigation.
- Addition Information:
- Salary is based on candidate experience and qualifications plus commission
- Full time employment - Monday – Friday
