Janitorial & Maintenance Technician
Location: Two facilities (approximately 1 mile apart)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Hours: Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week
Pay: $17 / hr
The janitor/ maintenance worker will ensure cleanliness, safety, and basic upkeeping of two facilities. Their role will include both custodial and light maintenance duties. Will need own reliable transportation to drive between facilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
o Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and public areas.
o Sweep, mop, vacuum, wax, and polish floors.
o Empty trash cans, recycling bins, and dispose of waste properly.
o Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, and fixtures.
o Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs/Fixing small things.
o Maintain outdoor areas (snow removal, near walkways and doors), debris cleanup).
o Use cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, scrubbers, and polishers.
o Ensure safety compliance when using chemicals and equipment.
Required Skills and Traits
o Attention to detail and strong cleanliness standards.
o Physical stamina for lifting, bending, standing, and walking for long periods.
o Will need to walk up one flight of stairs.
o Ability to work independently and follow schedules
o Good communication skills for interacting with staff.
Typical Qualifications
o No formal education required; prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
o Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment, and safety procedures. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Schedule
· Monday – Friday 6:30 to 3:00 (40 hours a week)
· ½ day at building one and ½ day at Building two. 2min drive (1.0 miles)
Position Overview
Integrative Staffing Group is seeking a dependable Janitorial & Maintenance Technician to help maintain two nearby facilities. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping work environments clean, safe, and well-maintained. The successful candidate will split their day between both locations (approximately a 2-minute drive apart) and perform a combination of custodial duties and light building maintenance.
Reliable transportation is required to travel between both facilities during the workday.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, common areas, and other workspaces
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, wax, and polish floors
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly
- Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and other surfaces
- Perform light maintenance tasks, including replacing light bulbs and completing minor repairs
- Help maintain outdoor entrances and walkways by removing debris and assisting with snow removal during winter months
- Safely operate cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor buffers, scrubbers, and polishers
- Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Report maintenance concerns or repair needs to management
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or light maintenance experience is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities without constant supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the shift
- Ability to climb one flight of stairs regularly
- Comfortable performing physically active work in both indoor and outdoor environments
