Temporary to Hire
Monday to Friday, three shifts available
1st (7 am to 3:15 pm) – 2nd (3:00 pm to 11:15 pm) – 3rd (11:00 pm to 7:15 am)
Benefits are available after the probationary period.
UPMC Medical is 70% paid, and dental and vision are available.

Description
The Material Handler operates a forklift or other mobile equipment to retrieve and distribute pallets and/or steel material to designated locations, as specified by work instructions. The worker ensures the flow of materials through the supply chain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols.
- Perform work as assigned by the Team Leader or work instructions.
- Read work instructions to obtain production information.
- Read work instructions to determine product beginning and ending locations.
- Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently to deliver the product to a final location.
- Utilize necessary equipment to verify measurements/quality specifications.
- Complete job requirements with minimal supervision.
- Accurately document applicable job and product information utilizing computer and paper documents as required.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform preventative maintenance on mobile equipment as required/requested.
- Focus on quality and speed, performing all tasks with a sense of urgency toward excellence.
- Use of an overhead crane to maneuver and position steel pieces using lifting magnets, chains, and/or straps.
- Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader and the Management Team.
Qualifications / Education
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: follow instructions and perform basic math functions.
- 1 year of experience operating mobile equipment, preferably in a service center.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Must be familiar with all machines required to perform the tasks stated above.
- Employment is contingent on a criminal background check and a drug test
