Computer Technician Support Assistant

This is an in-office and NOT a remote position.
General Purpose of the Position:
To provide administrative and logistical support to CareerSource Broward (CSBD) Computer Technician staff, enabling them to efficiently access and maintain CSBD’s computer network and technical equipment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the logistics of computer imaging, preparation, and deployment processes, including the transportation of technology equipment under the guidance of the technical team.
- Support inventory of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly stored.
- Support the technical team by setting up workstations, including basic cable management and assisting with the physical setup of equipment under direct supervision.
- Maintain and update records of daily transactions, user inquiries, and inventory levels using the Track It system or similar.
- Provide basic troubleshooting assistance for common software and hardware issues under the supervision of a technician.
- Support agency quality improvement initiatives by contributing to the strategic planning and improvement of customer service processes.
- Responsibilities include preparing items and transporting to one stop location, ensuring their safe handling and loading, driving to the designated locations,
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including but not limited to administrative tasks and assisting with special projects as needed.
Supervisory Controls and Guidelines:
- Incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Computer Technician Supervisor.
- Areas of work are assigned via the Track It system and directly from the Computer Technician Supervisor or Vice President of Information Technology.
- The incumbent must use independent judgment to determine how to best achieve the established objectives.
- The supervisor monitors the work.
- Technical assistance guides, programmatic rules, including federal and state rules and guidelines, CSBD personnel rules, policies, and procedures, labor laws, and current best practices research are tools used by the incumbent.
Education, Experience and Knowledge Required:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, with a strong interest in technology and computer systems.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.
- Prior experience in an administrative or support role within an IT environment is beneficial but not required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and assist in the physical setup of computer systems and networks.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for travel to other work locations as needed.
