Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic team in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for delivering tailored financial solutions. This role involves preparing financial statements, conducting audits, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and providing strategic financial guidance to clients and businesses. Key Responsibilities:  
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting standards.  
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, establishing and maintaining tables of accounts and assigning entries appropriately.  
  • Conduct internal and external audits, providing recommendations to improve financial processes and oversee internal controls.  
  • Compute taxes owed, prepare and file tax returns, and ensure timely compliance with all payment and reporting requirements.  
  • Analyze financial data, business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses, creating actionable reports for management, stakeholders, and clients.  
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial planning, developing periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs.  
  • Provide strategic financial advice on compensation, employee benefits, long-term tax or estate planning, and risk management.  
  • Develop, implement, and document efficient recordkeeping and accounting systems using current technology.  
  • Stay updated on industry trends, changes in tax laws, and best practices to deliver informed recommendations.
 
Qualifications:  
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required, with 4-7 years of preferred experience, specifically with solid CPA firms (no industry experience).  
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.  
  • Deep knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, and individual tax regulations.  
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Ultra Tax CS, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, paired with exceptional interpersonal abilities.  
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.  
  • Must be available to work in-person in the North Hills, Pittsburgh area.
 
Work Hours:  
  • Peak Filing Season: 60 hours per week, on-site Monday through Saturday.  
  • Outside of Tax Season: 1,600–1,700 billable hours per year for full-time employees.  
  • Flexible arrangements available, including part-time and seasonal options.
