Maintenance Technician I – New Castle, PA

Hours: M to F, 7 am to 3:30 pm
$21.39 to start.
Position offers full benefits including:
100% employer paid for employee only medical, dental, and vision, short- and long-term disability, prescriptions, vacation after six (6) months’ probation, three (3) paid personal days after one (1) year and fourteen (14) paid holiday and re-imbursement for mileage accrued during work duties.
The qualified candidate performs maintenance work with an emphasis on plumbing work necessary to the upkeep and operation of the buildings, grounds, and equipment. He or she will assist employees of higher classification in the performance of tasks requiring more skill and experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Performs routine maintenance repairs and replacements to occupied and vacant units.
- Documents work completed on service requests, including any problems that may have prevented work from being completed, and submits work request to Maintenance Coordinator.
- Cleans grounds and interior common areas of property.
- Operates various hand tools needed to perform various maintenance repairs.
- Performs routine maintenance repairs and replacements throughout exterior grounds and interior common areas of property.
- Performs maintenance repairs and replacements resulting from annual inspections, as assigned.
- Maintains a cooperative work relationship with residents and co-workers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift objects up to sixty pounds unassisted.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic janitorial, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs and replacements.
- Ability to operate and maintain a variety of power and manual tools and equipment.
- Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents and co-workers.
- Ability to carry out oral and written directions.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
