Our Process Engineering group provides daily support to facilities with all continuous improvement activities including but not limited to: root-cause analysis, KPI tracking, implementing Six Sigma/Lean methods of process improvement, and proactively identifying process improvement opportunities. We typically look to our Process Engineers to take on future management roles within our Operations organization and we are interested in candidates who have a desire to develop their technical and people leadership.


Manage the reengineering of existing business processes to improve efficiency
Work in partnership with cross functional teams to identify projects that support business initiatives and future business models
Improve work flow and provide access to accurate, real time, process information
Analyze current processes through value stream mapping, flowcharting, and visual tools
Define best practices through benchmarking, research, and professional associations
Establish, monitor, and measure process metrics and goals and impact on overall performance
Develop process improvement projects and work with cross functional teams to deploy standard operating procedures and continuous improvement
Define and use performance measures to drive and monitor organizational performance and evaluate the results in relation to the plan
Apply techniques that support and sustain employee enthusiasm and implement strategies that enable parties with opposing outlooks to recognize common goals and work together to achieve them


Reports to the General Manager Operations
No positions report directly to the Process Engineer
May take direction from Sr. Process Engineers either directly or indirectly
The Process Engineer receives assistance from other engineers and interns within the Engineering Department
May direct outside contracting services or contractors




Bachelor s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline
3-5+ years related professional experience
Knowledge of Metallurgy and Threading, Welding, Heat treatment, Steel making, and Inspections
Worked in heavy Industrial Environment
Demonstrated experience implementing successful projects using various Lean/Six Sigma tools
Written and developed standard operating procedures
Project Management and cost justification for purchase of capital equipment
Completed capability analysis and or implemented SPC procedures to drive process improvements
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Power Point, Word
Demonstrates strong organizational and change management skills
Excellent communication skills; able to communicate technical information to practitioners as wells as non-technical audience (written and oral)
