Operations Specialist Indiana Site and Alcoa In Plant Support
BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION: The Operations Specialists is a member of the Fluid Management Team, a small team of employees who are located at Alcoa s Warrick Operations plant. The Fluid Management team is responsible for managing all aspects of products and operations at the Alcoa Warrick Operations Plant and Alcoa Warrick Power Plant. Fluid Management is an important part of the contract between Alcoa and Allegheny Petroleum with very specific requirements. Fluid Management includes everything from inventory management and ordering to technical services.
1) Education and Experience
a) High school diploma required. Some college or technical school is preferred.
b) 2+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
c) Lubricant or Petroleum background preferred.
a) Monitor, manage plant inventory and consignment
b) Analyze inventories, customer production issues, quality and technical data
c) Coordinate with customers, suppliers and other plants to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
d) Coordinate emergency twenty-four-hour plant coverage in case of emergency
e) Accompany bulk deliveries into the plant and organize support for any deliveries requiring additional personnel or equipment.
f) Measure, track, and improve key performance indicators for each Alcoa manufacturing department within the plant site.
a) Report weekly site activity to Management
b) Serve as Alcoa site representative by entering and processing customer orders
c) Provide and maintain daily records required for each Alcoa department (production, procurement, etc.)
d) Run/Create reports for Alcoa personnel and/or Allegheny Petroleum management
e) Answer phones in the APPC office at the Alcoa Plant
a) Provide daily technical support and troubleshooting to Alcoa Operations
b) Work with Alcoa s process Research and Development subject matter experts to develop new lubricant formulations to optimize plant operations.
c) Take samples of products and send for testing.
d) Manage Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures and documentation regards to lubricants and process lubricants
a) Person in this position may be required to assist in the Boonville warehouse
b) must be able to lift up to 50lbs
c) package material in pails and drums
d) load/unloading trucks
e) forklift operation (will train)
6) Computer skills
a) Work with various computer systems (internal and customer/supplier systems)
b) Familiarity with business management software (SAP, Chempax, etc.)
c) Information management Run reports, analyze data and manage various types of information in various formats
d) Print orders off Chempax system, update data in Chempax or other computer systems
a) Lead problem solving for site process issues
b) Work effectively in a team environment
c) Work effectively independently
d) Communicate effectively with all customers, suppliers and employees including technical staff, production employees, procurement team and customer services team, sales team, management, operations and suppliers and customers by means of most effective technology or in-person meetings.
e) Lead initiatives to drive cost savings and improvements in EHS (Environmental Safety and Health)
