A professional environmental consulting firm which performs the following services:
Site Characterization and Site Remediation
Environmental Due Diligence (Phase I & Phase II Environmental Site Assessments)
Environmental Permitting and Compliance Audits
Soil and Groundwater Remediation
Remediation System Design and Installation and Operation & Maintenance
In-plant Compliance Audit Services
Perform surveying activities associated with the following tasks: Boundary surveying; Construction stakeouts; Elevation certifications; Courthouse research; Field sampling and data collection for site characterization/assessment/investigation; Groundwater monitoring; and, Remedial oversight.
Assist Licensed Professional Surveyor;
Lead survey crew(s);
Create site maps and deed plots in Carlson and AutoCAD software;
Use global positioning system (GPS) and electronic distance meters;
Perform asbestos sampling;
Implement field sampling and analysis plans;
Use hand tools and small equipment;
Prepare field notes documenting surveying, media sampling, remedial activities and other data collection;
Maintain equipment inventories;
Write work plans for various field activities;
Perform environmental media sampling (soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, soil vapor, air);
Oversee subcontractor activities including drilling, Geoprobe, HIT remediation, dual phase extraction and soil excavation;
Prepare soil boring logs and document field sampling and data collection using field notebook;
Install, maintain, repair and properly abandon groundwater monitoring wells and soil vapor points; and,
Perform well gauging
Prepare and implement field activity work scopes;
Education and Experience:
West Virginia Professional Land Surveying certification, preferred but not mandatory.
40 hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training is required. Training will be provided, if necessary
Desired Education: 2 or 4-year science degree in an Environmental Science Field preferred
Knowledge of computers and database software
Knowledge of geological systems and field data gathering techniques
Problem solving skills
Mechanical repair and maintenance skills
Ability to exercise independent judgement
Ability to perform careful and precise recordings of various field samples
Ability to interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors in a professional manner
Must be able to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions. Will also be required to work in an office environment when not in the field.
Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
