Position summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to analyze and control all construction costs as well as preparing comprehensive and competitive bids/proposals for construction projects.

Essential functions and responsibilities:
Support the Directors of Shannon Staley and Sons in analyzing and controlling construction costs and profits.
Manage a cost control system that effectively and accurately measures costs and allows for accurate projections of operating results including but not limited to: Maintain cost keys and price masters by updating information; Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor estimating.
Initiate agreements and negotiations with sub-contractors, vendors, and partners that will maximize value to Shannon Staley and Sons.
Update and maintain sales, pricing, and cost information for entire company.
Maintain thorough knowledge of each project and the associated costs and communicate expectations with project team, Costing Manager, and clients, including but not limited to: Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses for jobs. This includes travel to job sites and collaboration with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors to determine total costs; Use mHelp Desk software to calculate and prepare estimates.
Collaborate with the Sales team to ensure estimates are accurate to customer specifications.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
Work with Systems coordinator to complete budgeting and scheduling. Monitor progress, complete requisitioned change orders and identify any potential risks.
Ensure site personnel are provided with initial project budget and changes to the budget during the project. Address any concerns of the field personnel.

Physical demands and work environment:
Must be able to walk, stand, sit, see, hear, and speak for extended periods of time. Incumbent must be able to climb ladders, crouch, and bend.
Must be able to travel independently to project sites.

Work Days and Shifts:
Position works primarily Monday through Friday. May require occasional weekend work.

Education/Certification(s)/License(s) required:
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required
Requires valid drivers license and reliable transportation.


Experience/Other required:
5+ years of experience of comparable financial analysis, costing, planning, or economic analysis with demonstrated attention to detail.
Able to convert financial analysis into meaningful operational recommendations and drive action and process improvement
Skilled in budgeting and negotiating
Exceptional problem analysis and problem-solving skills
Outstanding written and oral communications skills
Relevant costing and analysis experience is desired
Previous construction knowledge is a must.
Must periodically pass random drug screening.
