First full week is OSHA classroom instruction--pay is minimum wage during training week--after training $12.00/hour to start.
Normal Working Hours: 5: 30 am - 2: 30 pm (Winter hours may start later (depends on temperature)
-Employees will be cleaning creosote out of railroad tankers; a very dirty job! Creosote is a dark brown oil distilled from coal tar.
-Employees will be inside tanker most of the day and be covered with creosote.
-Employees will use a jack hammer, sprayer, sand blaster or other tools to break up the creosote oil. Employees will then remove the chunks of oil from the tank with a bucket. If the oil is still in liquid form, employees may be able to use the vac truck to suck it out.
-Lunch is at 9: 30am - Employees will need to bring lunch as there is no time to get out of gear, leave site, and get back in time to get back to work.
-Employees MUST have steel-toe metatarsal boots
-Company provides all safety equipment: Tyvex suits, Full Face Respirator, Hard Hat, Safety Glasses
Sand/water blasting, Jackhammering: 2 years
High school or equivalent
